The Naturalist's Choice ™ Program was a very successful fund raising activity that developed from the original Bird Seed Savings Day. The Naturalist's Choice program operated from 1980 until the Spring of 2008 at which time the program closed when the folks (Trudy and John Gardner) who originated it as BSSD back in 1974 and later operated it as Naturalist's choice retired.

Today those same folks have been working with one of their former partners who worked for a one of the seed suppliers. Just last year he opened his own seed manufacturing plant in the heart of Amish Country in Ohio and has become very successfull.
